Important points on the use of Science Linker in the animal facility
- All cages should be placed in the racks according to positions specified on the cage cards and in the software.
- In addition to "unique id numbers", cages and animals in Science Linker have titles/names to help researchers organize and track animal lines and breedings. Titles must be specified when requesting breedings and when ordering animals. Researchers interacting with the animal facility should familiarize themselves with the naming system. This will be discussed in the information/training sessions (see also "Animal and cage names/titles" in User manual)
Software
General Science Linker usage information: User manual
Users who are registered as users at KPM can download the Science Linker software from here: Science Linker RH00
You use the same username and password when downloading the software from the link above and when logging into KPM from the Science Linker app.
For security reasons the user manual and download links are not open to the entire internet, but available from OUS and UiO addresses (+ some other Norwegian networks) only.
Note that the downloaded app will not work on OUS PCs on the "sykehusnett", because of network security policy restrictions. It should work from UiO PCs, "forskernett", and wifi.
On OUS PCs the app is available as an OUS application.
